The major criteria that determine the required size are:
• Size
of the room (floor area)
• Ceiling height
• Insulation material
(if any) used
• Wall construction
of the building (e.g. brick, weatherboard, timber, etc)
• Roof type
• Orientation and
shading of windows
A quick guide to calculate the size of your
air conditioner
As a very rough guide, allow 1.5 kw for every 10 m2 of floor
area. For example, a 40m2 floor area requires a 6.0 kw unit.
